VisitPITTSBURGH’s Pull Up a Chair. You are Welcomed Here. campaign, which was launched just six months ago, won thePRNEWS Digital Game-Changer Award.
PRNEWS called the Game-Changer Award “the most prestigious award of the morning,” and Pull Up a Chair, the multi-media, in-house campaign, beat out several marketing agencies for the honor.
“Our Pull Up a Chair campaign continues to resonate with travelers from across the country, as well as with Pittsburghers who continue to help push out the campaign’s messaging,” Chief Marketing Officer Tom Loftus said. “The PRNEWS Game-Changer Award is special, as this is an out-of-industry honor. VisitPITTSBURGH was grouped with a prestigious list of finalists, and I’m thrilled to see our campaign recognized amongst top-notch marketing agencies and organizations only six months out of its launch date.
“The campaign is built upon a welcoming Pittsburgh message and the act of offering someone a chair – a sign of hospitality and respect. I’m very thankful for all who continue to push this campaign and to my highly creative marketing team. We plan to build upon this success in 2020, and I’m excited to see where we can take the campaign next year.”
With 30 different categories, the 2019 PRNEWS Digital Awards honored cutting-edge digital performances in the public relations industry. Among the other organizations nominated this year were Marriott, Coca Cola, Universal Studios, Taco Bell and global marketing agencies.
The Game-Changer Award is the second national recognition in as many months for VisitPITTSBURGH. In September, the Pull Up a Chair campaign was named a Gold Winner in the Destination Marketing Campaign category of the Travel Weekly Magellan Awards.
The VisitPITTSBURGH campaign is different from other destinations’ campaigns because it was created in-house without the use of an agency. Click here to watch the campaign video.
