Pittsburgh to Host Major Conference For Hospitality Event Professionals in 2019
21 Aug, 2017
If you want meeting industry leaders to experience the beauty of Pittsburgh and why the city is a top convention destination, you host a convention of those leaders so they can see for themselves. That’s one of the major benefits that comes with Pittsburgh being named the host of the Professional Convention Management Association’s (PCMA) annual Convening Leaders Conference at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in January 2019.
This event, which has grown significantly over the last nine years, is expected to draw more than 4,200 professionals world-wide to the city for three days of educational collaboration and networking, all while taking in the spectacular sites the city has to offer including the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. It will demonstrate that Pittsburgh is accessible, walkable, and has award-winning dining and unique off-site venues. PCMA will tap into the minds of leaders from the region’s universities and the corporate community to bring new research ideas that will be valuable for new Convening Leaders’ content.
“This is a huge win for Pittsburgh. Five minutes after the announcement our team started our planning,” said Craig Davis, president and CEO of VisitPITTSBURGH. “Many of these attendees will be deciding the locations for their future meetings and conferences, so the opportunity to showcase our beautiful city to these decision makers could lead to a tremendous amount of business for Pittsburgh. PCMA attendees who have never been to our great city or who haven’t been here a while, will quickly find out why Pittsburgh is amongst the top travel destinations in the world and one of the friendliest cities, as well has having an outstanding food scene and thriving cultural district. We look forward to welcoming the business event leaders from around the world to Pittsburgh.
