P3R and Pittsburgh Brewing Co. announced their new two-year partnership as part of both companies’ efforts to create amazing experiences for Pittsburgh’s runners. I.C Light will be the official beer for the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon weekend of events, and will pop-up to help runners celebrate their accomplishments at other P3R events throughout the year.

“Pittsburgh Brewing Co. is very excited to be partnering with P3R. As one of the local businesses along the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon’s course, it was an obvious choice to make I.C. Light the official beer of the Pittsburgh Marathon,” said Anna Angotti, Marketing specialist at Pittsburgh Brewing Co. “With only 95 calories and 2.8 carbs, I.C. Light is a perfect post-run choice for the Pittsburgh runner. We’re excited to cheer on our hometown runners during the Marathon. We’ll see you at the finish line.”

Through this partnership, runners will have the chance to celebrate their accomplishment at finish lines throughout P3R’s calendar of races. With a tent at the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon finish line festival and a cheer station along the course, I.C. Light will help runners experience some of the best Pittsburgh has to offer.

“I.C Light is an iconic beer in the Pittsburgh community, which makes this partnership really special to us,” said Caroline Fitzgerald, VP of Partnerships and Runner Experience at P3R. “Both P3R and Pittsburgh Brewing Co. are focused on celebrating our participants’ accomplishments - and all things that make Pittsburgh uniquely Pittsburgh so we love teaming up and bringing the best experience to our runners.”

Each year, more than 60,000 runners from all 50 states and 20 countries participate in P3R’s signature races. The 2021 schedule of events includes the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon, EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler, Fleet Feet Liberty Mile and the GAP Relay presented by UPMC Health Plan. About Pittsburgh Brewing Company

The history of Pittsburgh Brewing Co. can be traced back to the mid-1800s when Iron City Brewing was established at Liberty Avenue and 34th Street in Lawrenceville. Pittsburgh Brewing Co. has been operating for over 150 years and survived because of their product innovation. Pittsburgh Brewing was known for many “firsts” in the brewing world. It introduced the world’s first snap-top can, established in conjunction with Alcoa. It also introduced the first twist-off resealable cap, was the first to package draft beer in a can and was the first to produce cans with printed scenes honoring the achievements of local professional and college sports teams. In 1978, Pittsburgh Brewing Co., as just one of the 40 breweries left in the United States, introduced I.C. Light, one of the first light beers in the country. Now, the company is currently owned by a local family, and is working to continue its tradition of brewing innovative world class beers and supporting the local Pittsburgh community. Pittsburgh Brewing Co. also partners with the local professional and college sports teams as well as local events.

Pittsburgh Brewing Co. is the producer of Iron City Beer, I.C. Light, I.C. Light Mango, Old German, American/American Light, and Block House.
