As York celebrates Pride Month with its LGBTQIA+ community, its pro baseball team is gearing up for its own celebration next Friday night. The York Revolution announced today that it will host its fourth annual Pride Night at PeoplesBank Park on June 11, presented by UPMC.

Featuring a pre-game parade and presentations as well as in-game performances, the themed ball game will serve as a fundraiser for the Rainbow Rose Center, with a portion of ticket sales going to the non-profit resource center dedicated to enhancing the diversity of the area and the businesses in it.

Pride Night also gives organizers the opportunity to again stress a major tenet of the Revolution’s goals and beliefs.

“For many years now, we have made it our goal to make PeoplesBank the most welcoming place in York,” said Revolution Vice President of Business Development Nate Tile. “We have traditionally celebrated a wide range of the facets of our community during themed Revs games, and – pardon the pun – we are extremely proud to do the same for the LGBTQIA+ community and stress that York’s ballpark is a safe place for all, which is not something this rich and diverse portion of our community has always had.”

Returning from its first road trip of the 2021 season, the Revolution will face the defending Atlantic League champion Long Island Ducks in next Friday’s game. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m., and first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
