Sports Festival to Debut in Erie This Weekend

Event to Feature Bodybuilding, Arm Wrestling, Power Lifting and More

The Great Lakes Sports Festival will make its debut at the Bayfront Convention Center on Saturday, bringing with it a multitude of physique, power lifting and performance sports competitions.

Doors open for an all-day expo beginning at 8 a.m. with competition beginning at 9 a.m. Prejudging for the National Physique Committee (NPC) Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure, Bikini and Physique event begins at 9 a.m. as well as the Crossfit FBO No Excuses Throwdown.

The North American Strongman (NAS) Great Lakes Strongman Championships begin at noon and features five events, including a log press, farmers walk, car deadlift, tire flip and atlas stone carry. PA State Arm Wrestling Championships will also begin at noon, and will be hosted by AMC “Game of Arms” star and World Champion Erie native Dave Chaffee.

The NPC Bodybuilding Finals will begin at 5 p.m. The Festival will conclude with an action-filled NSA Wrestling Show featuring Erie’s own John “Big League” McChesney, beginning at 8 p.m.

Admission is $15 for the Expo and $35 for access to all events and finals. Reserved seating tickets are $25 for the NPC Bodybuilding Finals and $25 for the Pro Wrestling event.

Advance tickets may be purchased online through www.erieevents.com or at the Erie Insurance Arena Box Office. Tickets will also be available at the door.
