Glenside Gaelic Club hosted the Liberty Bell Tournament 2022, a Gaelic Football tournament featuring teams from across the east coast competing in Gaelic Football, Hurling & Camogie .

Gaelic football is played by both boys and girls and it combines the footwork and endurance of soccer, the jumping and hand skills of basketball and the kicking and tactical awareness of rugby in a field sport that is high scoring and entertaining. Played between two teams consisting of between 7 and 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch, players advance the football, a spherical leather ball, up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands).

Hurling (for boys) and Camogie (for girls) are both bat and ball games that combine the hitting skills of baseball with the stick skills of hockey/field hockey in a high speed, high -octane field sport reminiscent of lacrosse. Hurling/Camogie is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic origin and has been played for over 3,000 years.
