“The Biggest Loser” RunWalk will return to Presque Isle State Park for the second time on Sunday, June 7, as it hosts a Half Marathon, 5K, and a One-Mile Kids Fun Run. A total economic impact of $700,000 to $800,000 has been anticipated.

The half marathon will start at 7 a.m. and the 5K will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Beach 11.

This will be the third time that Erie has been chosen as a National Premier Destination by this event.

Packet Pick-Up will be held on Saturday, June 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Junker Center on the campus of Penn State Behrend. The event will include race tips from event directors, meet-and-greets with “The Biggest Loser” celebrities, entertainment, and exhibitors and vendors.

Dan and Jackie Evans, Pam Geil, Andrea Wilamowski, and Rob Guiry are all former contestants on “The Biggest Loser” who will be present at the event. Dan and Jackie Evans, who are the national spokespeople for the RunWalk, were on Season 5 of “The Biggest Loser” and together lost a combined weight of 225 pounds. Pam Geil competed on Season 14 and lost 71 pounds on her path to a healthier lifestyle.  Andrea Wilamowski, went home just two weeks into season 16, but was so passionate about becoming happy and healthy that, with the help of her husband, has lost 60 pounds since being on the show. Rob Guiry was a finalist on Season 16, and has lost 236 pounds.

This event is being sponsored locally by WICU, UPMC Hamot, and Presque Isle Downs and Casino.
