The 84th Pennsylvania State United States Bowling Congress (PA State USBC) Open Championships are set to commence a 10-week bowling tournament from April 5- June 8 at Eastland Bowl and Eastway Lanes.

The PA State USBC Open Championships will bring excitement and elite bowling to Erie, as the city welcomes back the event for the fourth time and the first since 2019. Eastland will serve as the venue for the five-person team event, while the minor doubles and singles competition will take place at Eastway.

The championships will kick off this Saturday and Sunday when bowlers from across the state will converge to showcase their skills all day long. With competitors of all ages, the championships offer an inclusive and competitive environment for bowlers to test their skill.

“We are thrilled to welcome the PA State USBC Championships back to Erie,” said Brett Rearick, President, Northwestern PA USBC. “Erie has a rich tradition of bowling, and we’re excited to showcase Erie’s hospitality and bowling facilities to participants from across the state.”

In addition to the PA State USBC Open Championships, Champion Cheer Central is set to host its annual Lake Erie National Cheer and Dance Championships this Saturday and Sunday. Hosted each day at the Erie Insurance Arena, this national event attracts top cheer and dance athletes from the Great Lakes and Northeast regions, promising a spectacle of music, lights, and boundless energy.

Syracuse Select is also back in Erie with the Erie Hardwood Battle Tournament taking place this weekend at Hagerty Family Events Center. The event will feature 64 youth boys and girls basketball teams with a three-game guarantee.

“This weekend represents another excellent example of the power of sports tourism in Erie County,” said Mark Jeanneret, executive director of the Erie Sports Commission. “The State Bowling tournament will run for 10 weekends and bring thousands of competitors to town and the Lake Erie Nationals annually attracts more than 150 teams over the course of its competition weekend. Combined, the two events will generate nearly $3.5 million in estimated economic impact.”
