Champion Cheer Central Kicks Off Season at Erie This Saturday

Champion Cheer Central will once again host four cheer and dance competitions in Erie, PA during its 2019-20 season, starting with the annual Lights! Camera! Action! Cheer and Dance Extravaganza on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Bayfront Convention Center.  More than 100 school, recreation and all-star cheer and dance squads from the tri-state area are expected to compete in the event.

The Albion-based company will host four events in Erie over the course of the season:

·         Lights! Camera! Action! Cheer and Dance Extravaganza (Dec. 7, Bayfront Convention Center)

·         Erie Winter Beach Blast Cheer and Dance Championships (Jan. 12, Bayfront Convention Center)

·         Champions of Dance (April 4, Bayfront Convention Center)

·         Lake Erie National Cheer Championships (April 4-5, Erie Insurance Arena)

The total economic impact of all four Champion Cheer Central events is estimated to be approximately $2.2 million.

“We’re excited to come back to Erie again for our 2019-20 season, as our events have done really well here,” said Heather Petz, co-owner of Champion Cheer Central. “The Erie Sports Commission and the rest of our local partners do a great job supporting all of our events, and I’m confident that we can continue to grow here for years to come.”

Champion Cheer Central has been operating cheerleading camps and cheer and dance competitions for nearly 30 years. Competitions are regularly hosted in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and New York.
