Bassmaster Basstrek Challenge Headed to Erie

New Two-Man Team Tournament to be Offered at Presque Isle State Park

The Erie Sports Commission is pleased to announce the inaugural Bassmaster Basstrek Challenge will be held in Erie on Saturday, October 11 at Presque Isle State Park. The event, which is sponsored by Old Milwaukee, does not require an entry fee and will award cash prizes to the top three teams. The tournament is limited to the first 50 boats.

Teams of two will compete to catch a largemouth and smallmouth bass in this event to combine for the heaviest weight overall. Each team must catch one of each, and the team with the heaviest combined weight will win $2,000. Second place will be awarded $1,000, and third will receive $500. Participants must be 21 years of age or older to register. The event will begin with registration at 7 a.m. at the West Pier Launch. Boats will take off at 8 a.m. and return to the pier at 1 p.m. Weigh-in and lunch will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Bassmaster and Old Milwaukee will host a meet and greet with Bassmaster Elite Series pro Fletcher Shryock and Bassmaster Magazine Editor James Hall on Friday, October 10 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Oasis Pub.
