Dates are set for the two-year stay in Bend, Oregon, with national championship action scheduled for June 25, 2016, and June 24, 2017. Athletes will compete for age-group national titles in the standard- and sprint-distance races, as well as spots on Team USA, the select group of amateur multisport athletes who represent the U.S. at International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Championship events. "Bend has so much to offer our athletes in the way of recreational and cultural activities, and we're looking forward to creating a memorable event experience with our partners at Visit Bend and the City of Bend."

"We've been working with USA Triathlon for five years to bring this event to Bend," explained Doug La Placa, CEO for Visit Bend. "Hosting the Duathlon National Championships in Bend is an honor for our tourism industry, and we're looking forward to exceeding the expectations of USA Triathlon and their athletes from around the country."
