Stark County Offers Running Options Throughout 2022

There are so many running events in Stark County/Canton in 2022. From a full marathon to family-friendly runs, your list of races to register for this season is sure to grow a little longer!

No matter what season it is, it's always the perfect time to hit the trails and explore a new community in Stark County with a 5K or even a full Marathon. Spend time with friends or create a new family tradition with one of these events.

Run Wild! Spring Trail Run and Earth Day Celebration / April 23 / The Wilderness Center

Besides the 1 Mile Fun Run, 5K, and 10K, there will be many activities on-site including tree planting, recycling art demonstration, and representatives from local health organizations about the health benefits of being in nature. 

Hall of Fame Marathon / April 24 / Canton
Be a part of the greatest race around! The Marathon is a full 26.2-mile event that will take you on a scenic journey of Canton, OH. Runners will finish at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium and will travel a pure out and back course. Get signed up before it is too late for the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, or Team Relay (SOLD OUT FOR 2022) to experience this legendary race around Canton!

Mother of All Races / May 7 / Canal Fulton REGISTRATION OPENS SOON
Come celebrate Mother's Day Weekend when the Canal Fulton Rotary presents the “Mother of All Races” 5K Run/Walk, 10K Run, 5K Competitive Walk. There is special pricing for Mother/Daughter and Mother/Son teams.

Running with my Gnomies / May 14 / Canal Fulton
Running with My Gnomies is a 25k and 50k through the hills of Camp Tuscazoar in beautiful Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Not only will you get to run with your Gnomies (Friends), you will also run with Gnomes! As you run the course look for the Gnomes of Tuscazoar. There are many of them hiding among the rocks and trees of the Camp Tuscazoar forest. Count them and see if you can find them all!

Hero Run 5K Run/Walk / May 30 / Massillon
The HERO 5K Run/Walk is a looped 3.1-mile run-walk along 13th street in Perry Township on Monday, May 30. This is the 8th for the HERO 5K Run/Walk and is an event in conjunction with the Perry Township Flags of Freedom.

Eagle Up Ultra Marathon 100 mile / June 4-5 / Canal Fulton 

Based at Canal Fulton's St. Helena Park, the course is flat and fast ... on the Olde Muskingum and Ralph Regula Towpath Trails. There's plenty of shade and the scenery is beautiful. Stark County's only 24-hour endurance race. You have 24 hours to complete 100 miles, 100 kilometers (62 miles), the 50/50 ... [50 Miles, then 50 Kilometers], 50 miles or 50 kilometers (31 miles). Compete as an individual or relay team. Registration is available for 4-person and 8-person relay teams for the 100 miles.

Women's 6K Festival / June 4 / Canton
All women of ALL abilities are welcome to participate! We will be running a 6K course (3.73 miles) that starts at Malone University and finishes at Centennial Plaza in Downtown Canton. Men are welcome to join us in our Virtual Event!

Jackson Night Glow 5K / June 24 / Jackson Township North Park REGISTRATION OPENS SOON
The Jackson Township Night Glow 5K & Kids Fun Run, the original Stark County night glow run, is a local tradition you won't want to miss.

Up, Up, & Away 5K / July 30 / Kent State University at Stark Campus

Participants can run or walk a 5K course looping the beautiful campus of Kent State University at Stark with the potential for hot air balloons to launch and fly overhead!

G.L.O. 5K & Moonlight Market / August 12 / Hartville MarketPlace & Flea Market 

The evening will start with the 5K race and Moonlight Market starting at 6:00. Enjoy live music, hand-crafted vendors, food trucks, and much more! End the fun filled evening with friends and family by watching the fireworks show beginning at 10:00!

The Manly Man Foot Race / August 19 / Hall of Fame Village 

A race, a challenge, a ridiculous but fun way to run! Everyone wears a mustache. Join us after the race as anyone can compete in the best beard competition, loudest scream competition, and keg toss competition.

Troll Hobble Fun Run / September 25 / Troll Hole Museum in Downtown Alliance REGISTRATION OPENS SOON

Enjoy the brand new Troll Hobble Fun Run 5K Iron Horse trail with a costume contest with prizes. This event is part of the Alliance of Troll Convention

CAK5K on the Runway / October 8 / Canton REGISTRATION OPENS SOON

Enjoy a unique view of the Akron-Canton Airport, from the runway! Join family, friends, and fellow aviation enthusiasts as you watch aircraft depart and arrive from CAK while on the flattest course in the region.

Santa Clara Nun Run / October 8 / Canton REGISTRATION OPENS SOON

The Poor Clares came to Canton in 1946 and we look forward to celebrating with our 5K run/walk.  The 5K will run in the neighboring streets, the Middlebranch trail and finally through the monastery grounds with many cheering nuns.

Great Pumpkin Race / October 29 / Canton REGISTRATION OPENS SOON
Wheelchairs, strollers and dogs are welcome at our family-friendly, inclusive event. In addition to the road events, we have pumpkin cart racing, pumpkin decorating and the chance to Guess the Weight of the Giant Pumpkin!

The Haunted Forest Marathon / October 30 / Canal Fulton

The Haunted Forest Marathon - The Sequel will be held in Canal Fulton, Ohio. The race will consist of a full marathon (26.2 miles), a half marathon (13.1 miles), and a 5K (3.1 miles). The event will be heavily themed with a spooky starting line, tombstone mile markers, zombie water stations, and props all along the course. We will be running on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath from St Helena Heritage Park.

Perry Rotary Turkey Trot / November 24 / Canton REGISTRATION OPENS SOON

Come join the Perry Twp. Rotarians and the Perry Community on Thanksgiving Morning. This is a 5K Run/Walk, Competitive Walk, & Little Gobbler Run at Central Catholic High School, 4824 Tuscarawas St. W, Canton, OH 44708. This annual event has become a family event that hosts over 2800 runners/walkers and their families each year.
