The 129th U.S. National Target Championships, U.S. Open and the Easton JOAD National Championships return to Butler County this week. The event, hosted by the Butler County Visitors Bureau, the City of Hamilton, and USA Archery will be held on July 10 through July 14 at Joyce Park.

This year’s archery competition is expected to have record-breaking attendance with 701 registered archers competing including over 475 youth competitors. The event will also feature the entire 2012 U.S. Olympic Archery Team and the 2013 World Archery Championship Team.

“To have an event of this magnitude return to Butler County for the fourth year is great,” stated Mark Hecquet, Executive Director of the BCVB. “With a record breaking number of athletes expected this year, we look forward to welcoming the best archers in the nation to Butler County.”

The four-day archery event will feature over 700 skilled archery participants who will strive for the title of National Champion. The archery nationals are expected to generate an estimated $2 million for Butler County.

The opening ceremonies will be held on July 10 at 6 p.m. at Joyce Park.

There will be a free autograph session with the World Archery Championships Team during the opening ceremonies. The event will also feature a welcome BBQ. Barbecue tickets are $13 for adults and $9 per child, and must be purchased by 3:00 p.m. on July 10, at the registration tent.

Members of the community and media are invited to come out and watch the arrows fly at this year’s 129th U.S. National Target Championships, U.S. Open and the Easton JOAD National Championships, July 10 through July 14 at Joyce Park in Hamilton, Ohio. The event, excluding the BBQ, is free and open to the public.
