The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced it will extend its contract with Jamestown (N.D.) for two years (through 2024) as the host the NAIA Women’s Wrestling National Championship as the event transitions from Invitational status. The NAIA Women’s Wrestling Invitational has been hosted by Jamestown since its inception in 2019.

“The University of Jamestown is excited to continue to be the home of the NAIA Women’s Wrestling postseason. This year is extra special as it will be the first ever NAIA Women’s Wrestling National Championships. We can’t wait for March!”

With three years under its belt as the host, Jamestown and Jimmies’ Athletics displayed significant experience with the event.

“The NAIA is happy to continue to call Jamestown, N.D. home to women’s wrestling in the NAIA” said Austin Bennett, NAIA Director of Championships. “The experience the institution brings with this event is critical as the inaugural championship will be held this winter. There is no one better suited to host that event and we are excited to crown our first Women’s Wrestling National Champions there.”

Harold Newman Arena will again be the site for the event.  The $16 million building opened September 29, 2017. The 61,000 square foot facility features a private meeting room overlooking the floor, which combined with the lobby, can seat 350 people.  There are 8 locker rooms, two concession stands, a game day athletic training room and conference room.
