Olympian Jeff Galloway Coming to Greensboro

Olympian and renowned marathon trainer and running coach Jeff Galloway will be coming to Greensboro October 11 and 12. He is generously spending 2 full days with our running community, including the Jeff Galloway Running School on Friday October 11 from 3pm-7pm ($99 Registration is required and space is limited). Prior to the Running School, a free shake-out run will take place at 9:30am meeting at 3802 Jaycee Park Drive (Spencer Love Tennis Center, in Country Park.)  The shake-out run is a 1.7 mile course meant to stretch legs in preparation for Saturday’s events, as well as an opportunity to run with the famed Olympian and coach. From noon to 2pm, Jeff will be at Omega Sports Greensboro interacting with race expo attendees (2431 Battleground Ave, Greensboro.) On race day, Saturday, October 12, Jeff will be participating in the Cannonball Half Marathon as a part of the day of Cannonball events which also includes a full marathon, and a 5k distance options.   

Galloway's Run-Walk-Run method is well regarded among long distance runners, as his innovative training methods have opened up marathon running to all types of athletes, including first-time marathoners and veterans alike. 

About the Cannonball: Voted "Triad Best Marathon Expo" by Endurance Magazine, the Cannonball is the region’s only traditional marathon, and the half marathon holds the distinguished title of the longest recurring half marathon event in the region. The Cannonball honors the rich history of the region and celebrates hometown pride of Greensboro. Runners of all abilities participate in the Cannonball. The 16th annual Cannonball is produced by Junction 311 Endurance Sports and sponsored by Omega Sports, Chick Fil A, Got You Floored, A to Z Lock and Key, in addition to 5 Greensboro Breweries including Joymonger’s, Little Brother Brewing, Natty Greene’s Brewing, Preyer Brewing, and SouthEnd Brewing. The event is a part of the 2019 Omega Sports Race Series Presented by Chick Fil A. Cannonball will be held on October 12 in Country Park, Greensboro, NC. The event includes the 3 race distances and features a fabulous post run celebration including Greensboro Craft Beer, Food, Live Music and more community fun. Registration is open online to participate in any of the three race event distance http://cannonballmarathon.com/. Walk up registration is open at the expo as space allows. Volunteer opportunities are available. Spectators are welcome. The Humane Society of the Piedmont is the event charitable partner.
