Local officials are making plans for the invasion of over 500 senior softball players who will be coming to town to participate in the 2014 ISSA Spring Nationals on May 2-4.

Over 25 teams from seven states have entered early with several more anticipated to enter over the next ten days.

Tournament  games will be scheduled at the recently constructed five-field Bradford Park with nearby Nevin Park reserved for the overflow if necessary. ISSA Executive Director, RB Thomas, Jr. recently visited the new venue and was impressed with the quality of the fields and commitment being make by the local hosts to provide the senior teams a high quality event for the Spring Nationals.

A nice feature for this first year tournament will be the Thursday night Managers Meeting at the Michael Waltrip Racing facility.

Race car fans will enjoy the opportunity to visit the race car facility and learn first-hand how the cars are assembled and kept in racing condition. The meeting will be at 7:30pm but players can come earlier to check out the working facility. All participants are welcome.

The national tournament is expected to have excellent fields, special pretournament meeting, outstanding award package, convenient lodging, committed host community, experienced ISSA tournament staff and a weekend in the Lake Norman region with all of its amenities.
