The BIG Tournament, the world’s biggest invitational amateur charity golf tournament, announced today that Jacksonville Country Club in Jacksonville, North Carolina has been selected as a host for a Round Two Regional event on October 12, 2013.
“The Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission and The City of Jacksonville are proud to partner with a sporting event of such magnitude as The BIG Tournament,” says Ashleigh Bachert, Executive Director of The Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission.
Jacksonville Country Club will host up to 144 golfers in a 2-person scramble format with a tee-time of 8:00 a.m. Cost to enter is $150 per player. With the support of the city, the JCC and Mainstay Suites, golfers will experience a round of golf, JCC discounted practice rounds, lunch at the country club and promotional rates on accommodations.
The winning team from each of the regional events wins $1,000 for their charity and free entry and hotel stay for the National Championship in November 2013, which will be hosted in Las Vegas, Nevada. The grand prize is $10,000. The second and third place teams will win $5,000 and $2,500 for their respective charities.
The Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission was established in 1999 by the Jacksonville City Council and the Onslow County Commissioners. The commission focuses on events and activities that enhance the economy of the county.
