The Greensboro Sports Foundation is excited to announce that Jill B. Jones has joined the organization as Vice President of Administration and Community Engagement.
Jones, a former Division I basketball player at Wake Forest University, brings a distinguished career in athletics, leadership, and community development to the Foundation. She most recently helped lead Greensboro Day School’s $27 million capital campaign, ensuring a bright future for students and families.
Her background also includes serving as Chief Operating Officer at Proehlific Park, a multi-sport athletic and fitness facility, and as Director of Development and later Athletic Director at Canterbury School, where she combined fundraising expertise with a passion for youth and athletic programming.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jill to the Greensboro Sports Foundation team,” said Richard Beard, President of the Greensboro Sports Foundation. “Her unique blend of athletic experience, nonprofit leadership, and community engagement will strengthen our mission to grow sports tourism and major events in Greensboro while also connecting more deeply with our
community.”
In her new role, Jones will guide the Foundation’s internal operations and expand its outreach to partners, organizations, and neighborhoods across the city. She will play a key part in ensuring that major sporting events not only boost Greensboro’s economy but also enrich the lives of local residents.
“I’m excited to join the Greensboro Sports Foundation at such a pivotal time,” said Jones. “Sports have always been a central part of my life, and I look forward to working with community partners, local organizations, and residents to help create experiences that strengthen our community and inspire future generations.”
The Greensboro Sports Foundation looks forward to the impact Jill will make as it continues building Greensboro’s reputation as a premier sports destination and a city where community always comes first.
