Shape’s 16th annual Women’s Half-Marathon, set to take place in New York’s Central Park on April 14, announced that ABC’s Sara Haines will host this year’s event.

"Strahan and Sara," the newly branded "Good Morning America" offshoot previously known as "GMA Day," is media partner of the race. Haines hosts the weekday show with Michael Strahan.

Elizabeth Goodman Artis, EIC of Shape, noted Haines' “passion and advocacy for women's health,” stating that would make her a perfect host.

Race sponsors include Aveeno, Cabot Creamery Cooperative, Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company and True. This year’s charity partner is CARE.

The race is held in conjunction with community-running organization New York Road Runners, an advocacy group dedicated to inspiring people through running.

Each year, Shape’s half-marathon draws an international crowd of thousands of female runners and walkers. Day of events take place at the Race Day Festival at Naumburg Bandshell, including live music, giveaways and an awards ceremony following the race.

Prior to the race, Shape will leverage the occasion through pre-race events, inspiration, expert training tips and race updates promoted its social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

It will also promote the hashtag #WomenRunTheWorld.
