2014 Yonex US Open Grand Prix Gold International to be offered in July

A Badminton World Federation (BWF) sanctioned Grand Prix Gold series tournament, the 2014 Yonex US Open Badminton Championships will be held in Brentwood, N.Y., July 8-13, 2014.  The tournament will be contested at the Suffolk County Community College, Health Sports and Education Center at Grant Campus Crooked Hill Road in Brentwood.  The event boasts a total prize purse of $120,000.00.

Tournament play will be conducted in men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.

Starting with the India Grand Prix Gold in January, the Badminton World Federation is launching its latest series of tournaments – the BWF Grand Prix Gold Series – for global television viewing next year. The US Open Grand Prix Gold will be included.

Adding this third level of international events will offer even more badminton viewing for the many fans worldwide who have been devouring the content on BWF’s online channel – www.BadmintonWorld.TV – and via rights-holding broadcasters in countries worldwide.
