Since its grand opening in early March, the Albany Capital Center (ACC) continues to fill key positions; most recently hiring two event services managers, Jamie Parker and Anastasia Purritano. Both Parker and Purritano have sales and promotional experience in the Albany market and will be responsible for reserving conference rooms, coordinating services for groups and organizations holding meetings, conventions and other events and delivering events on time and within budget among other duties.

Parker joins the ACC with event planning and marketing background honed at the Albany County Convention and Visitors Bureau and The College of Saint Rose. In addition to her position at ACC, Parker also serves as coordination assistant for Inspired Occasions. A Capital Region native, Parker graduated from Fitchburg State University with a bachelor’s degree in Communications Media.

Purritano began her career with BBL Hospitality at the Hilton Garden Inn at Albany Medical Center. There she managed client relations and event planning and was promoted from sales coordinator to sales manager within a year. Also a Capital Region native, Purritano attended Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sports/Entertainment/Event Management in 2012.

“We are really looking forward to Jamie and Ana joining our management team,” said Doug McClaine, general manager, Albany Capital Center. “With the combination of knowledge surrounding the area as well as event planning expertise, these two candidates show great promise as we continue to round out our internal team.”

The ACC opened for business on March 1 with more than 60 events booked through the end of 2017 and another 28 events planned through 2021. The convention center is part of the Capital Complex, which also includes the Empire State Plaza, The Egg and the Times Union Center, all of which are connected by a series of newly-constructed, climate-controlled walkways. The Capital Complex makes up the largest and most unique event space in upstate New York at 159,000 square-feet.
