The Albany Capital Center (ACC) announced they have been awarded the only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation in the facilities industry. Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR-accredited facilities indicate the rigorous cleaning disinfection and prevention guidelines critical in keeping spaces clean and safe for visitors.
The GBAC STAR seal is reserved only for facilities that maintain the proper protocols for cleaning, indicating that the space has been disinfected to higher standards. The ACC has undergone a rigorous screening process to adhere to 20 Elements that include regular facility inspections and other high-level cleaning commitments.
"While ACC has always had stringent standards for our facility's cleanliness, this accreditation should provide guests with further assurance and confidence that our staff is properly trained and working hard to ensure their trust while performing building sanitation and safety," said Shannon Licygiewicz, general manager, Albany Capital Center. "We have had ASM's Venue Shield Program in place from the beginning of the pandemic and are in the process of finalizing a new air purification system, so I can confidently say we continue to be proactive in providing the highest of quality in safety measures for our attendee experience."
"From stadiums to hotels to convention centers to malls, there are many facilities around the world that are implementing cleaning for health best practices that maximize health and safety, efficiency and resources," said Patricia Olinger, executive director, GBAC. "Now when people visit new or favorite facilities, they can be confident that their wellbeing is a top priority."
Features such as the installation of Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization Technology which actively purifies indoor air quality reducing airborne and surface contaminants, pollutants and viruses such as COVID-19, are just one of many health and safety elements the ACC has recently implemented.
VenueShield is a comprehensive and best-in-class program, deployed at ASM Global managed facilities, providing the highest levels of sanitation and safety in partnership with industry experts, as well as public health officials. The facility remains in compliance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and government guidelines, enhancing already stringent standards of ASM's Venue Shield Program. Touchless temperature kiosks and contract tracing also are implemented when needed. The added improvement to air quality parlayed with existing measures enhanced the ACC's resume to become an accredited GBAC facility during the application process. To learn more about the ACC, visit www.albanycapitalcenter.com.
