More than 12 Olympians and 23 World Championship athletes make up the international rosters expected to compete March 7 at the 2026 American Cup. Following the nominative registration deadline for the event, nearly two-thirds of the 36-athletes from Japan, Great Britain, Brazil, China, Spain and Mexico are gymnasts who have competed at the highest level from around the globe.
This year’s American Cup competition marks its 50th anniversary and will be the first time it has been contested since 2020. Hosted at Lee’s Family Forum in suburban Las Vegas, the event will return to the international calendar as a mixed team competition where fans can get a first look at a format that may be used at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Among the currently registered athletes are the world’s top men’s and women’s artistic athletes, including four-time Olympic medalist and 12-time World medalist Daiki Hashimoto (JPN); 2024 Olympic triple medalist and four-time World medalist Boheng Zhang (CHN); 2024 Olympic uneven bars silver medalist and 2023 World uneven bars champion Qiyuan Qiu (CHN); Two-time Olympian and three-time World team member Diogo Soares (BRA); and two-time Olympian and three-time World team member Alba Petisco (ESP).
Up to three men and three women may be named to each roster, with no more than two of each gender competing on any apparatus at American Cup. Final rosters are subject to change. The U.S. roster for American Cup was decided following the 2026 Winter Cup February 21-22 in Louisville, Kentucky.
