Grand Rapids to Host Michigan Statewide Sport Management Conference

The second annual Michigan Statewide Sport Management Conference will take place November 21 & 22 at the Crowne Plaza in Grand Rapids, MI.

The main objective is to serve as a conduit between students and professional organizations in the field of sport management to provide valuable professional development and networking opportunities.

Students will attend from across the mid-west and professional organizations from across the country.

About the Conference: The Michigan Statewide Sport Management Conference is operated by the Michigan Statewide Sport Management Association made up of colleges/universities and student sport management clubs:

President – Heather Kesselring-Quakenbush, Ph.D. (Aquinas College)
Vice President – Marcia Mackey, Ph.D. (Central Michigan University)
Treasurer – Peggy Keiper, Ph.D. (Central Michigan University)
Secretary – James Lewis, Ph.D. (Western Michigan University)

Mission: To allow Michigan’s diverse collegiate students to immerse themselves in the field of sport management. In addition, this organization opens the door to students of all economic means to gain the benefits of meaningful educational experiences, professional development in sport management careers, and substantive networking opportunities.

Michigan Statewide Sport Management Association works collaboratively with Michigan Universities and Colleges and its in-state employers and agencies and professionals to foster a network of connections through the field of Sport Management.

Principles: The Michigan Statewide Sport Management Association believes sport management students should have a wealth of experiences and networking opportunities prior to graduation so that they stand the best chance of landing field-related jobs.
