Clinics Enabled by Sponsorship Agreement with Boston Triathlon

City Sports, the Boston-based specialty sporting goods retailer, has renewed their partnership with the Boston Triathlon. City Sports will co-produce two training clinics for first-time triathletes this summer with ethos, the owner and operator of the Boston Triathlon.

The first of two clinics took place on Thursday, July 9, at 6:00 p.m. at the North End Greenway. The event helped new triathletes prepare for the transition from biking to running in a single training session. Participants will ride stationary bikes and take part in a run led by triathlon coaches to mimic the events on race day. The second and final clinic will be held a few days before the race, August 6, at the City Sports store at 480 Boylston Street in Boston's Back Bay. Triathlon experts will be on hand to answer any last minute race questions and provide recommendations to help each athlete get outfitted for the event.

"This initiative celebrates the sense of community that comes with racing," said Eve Bould, Director of Marketing for City Sports. "We're thrilled to collaborate with The Boston Triathlon again this year to help new triathletes realize their goals."

First-time triathletes who are members of the City Sports loyalty program will be eligible to register for The Boston Triathlon at a reduced fee of $65. All other City Sports loyalty club members will receive a 10% discount off the $110-130 registration fee. "City Sports and ethos are excited to renew this partnership for The Boston Triathlon. Both of our organizations are committed to growing the sport of triathlon with this 'First-time Triathlete' initiative," said Michael O'Neil, President of ethos.
