US Lacrosse has announced the lineup of speakers and activities at LaxCon, lacrosse’s largest educational event, set for Jan. 22-24 at the Baltimore Convention Center. Advance ticket sales at uslacrosse.org/laxcon<http://www.uslacrosse.org/laxcon> continue until Jan. 20. Walk-up sales will be available.

LaxCon, the US Lacrosse Convention and Fan Fest, will feature nearly 150 of lacrosse’s best coaches and officials hosting clinics on diverse topics, including X’s and O’s, strategies, drills, rules interpretations and more. Team USA and Duke men’s coach John Danowski, Team USA and Georgetown women’s coach Ricky Fried, defending NCAA champion and Maryland women’s coach Cathy Reese, and Team USA U19 and Ohio State men’s coach Nick Myers represent some of the many prominent speakers.

“Our convention represents the ideal lead-in to the lacrosse season,” said Kim Rogers, director of events at US Lacrosse. “Providing the increasing number of kids playing lacrosse with a great experience rests on knowledgeable coaches and officials. LaxCon offers countless formal and informal educational opportunities for those groups. And for lacrosse fans of all ages, the Fan Fest portion of events on that Saturday will supply chances to meet and greet the game’s current stars.”

US Lacrosse Coaching Education Program clinics kick off LaxCon at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 22. Formal educational sessions begin at 3 p.m., and former six-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer Amy Van Dyken Rouen will deliver the keynote speech at 7 p.m. Major League Lacrosse will host its annual collegiate draft following the keynote speech.

LaxCon highlights Jan. 23 include live-field demonstrations by Team USA players Paul Rabil and Greg Gurenlian, Loyola women’s coach Jen Adams and assistant Dana Dobbie, Tewaaraton Award winners Lyle and Miles Thompson, former Syracuse All-American Casey Powell, and Wheelchair Lacrosse USA. Educational sessions conclude at approximately noon Jan. 24.

Under Armour, STX, Nationwide, and Buffalo Wild Wings lead more than 150 sponsors and exhibitors that will comprise the largest exposition hall in lacrosse, many of which will showcase the latest gear and apparel and conduct promotions and giveaways. Visit Baltimore is the event’s official CVB partner.

LaxCon drew a record 7,631 to Baltimore last year, and a similar crowd is expected. To purchase tickets or for more information on speakers, schedules, events and accommodations, visit uslacrosse.org/laxcon<http://www.uslacrosse.org/laxcon>.
