.05K Planned to Raise Money for Charity, Appeal to Non-Athletes

The Baltimore Running Festival, which offers a full marathon, half marathon, team relay, 5K and kids’ fun run, is celebrating its 15th anniversary and in honor of this, has announced a new race distance: the .05K run (or walk) which comes with a complimentary beer.

Organizers on the website noted, “The Baltimore Running Festival has long prided itself in having a race for everyone.  For years we have had races for young and old and distances for walkers to elite athletes.  This year, in celebration of our 15th Anniversary and in partnership with 98Rock and Power Plant Live, we are adding another race distance to the festivities.

This 98Rock sponsored event will kick of the weekend celebration and add a race distance that truly everyone can complete. Festivities at Power Plant will kick off at 5pm with the race starting at 7pm.

All proceeds from the $5 entry fee will go to benefit 98 Rock and Recovery. Prizes will be given for best costumes and other categories so come in style.  Race entries are limited.

If the .05K is too much for you to handle, you are still welcome to come enjoy the family friendly festivities and live music and help us to kick off the Baltimore Running Festival’s 15th Anniversary Celebration.”
