MCT Finals to be Presented at Assiniboine Memorial CC

The Manitoba Curling Tour presented by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries is pleased to announce the December 14 Men’s and Women’s MCT final games at Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club will both be featured as Community Access broadcasts on Shaw TV.

The telecasts are possible thanks to the support of the new Presenting Sponsor, Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, and MCT’s partners; Asham, CurlManitoba, CurlingZone, ReMax Professionals Gord & Kristi Green, and Best Western Plus Winnipeg West.

The games are tentatively scheduled for 1:30pm (Men’s final) and 4:00pm (Women’s final) as the culmination of men’s 16-team triple knock-out and women’s 12-team triple knock-out competitions. The 28 teams participating in the championships will be invited based upon their season-end rankings.

The fall 2014-15 Manitoba Curling Tour season includes 17 bonspiels in 7 rural communities and 4 Winnipeg clubs. In addition, current season rankings include the results of the January 2014 Deer Lodge Cash Spiel as well as the January - March Safeway and Scotties provincial berth qualifying events in Brandon & Carman.

The results of CurlManitoba’s Safeway Berth Bonspiel in Neepawa (November 27-29) and the Scotties Berth Bonspiel in Swan Lake (November 14-16) will also be included in the calculation of MCT rankings to determine eligibility for MCT Championship invitations. The rankings also determine post championship eligibility for invitations to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts presented by Monsanto in Winkler (January, 2015) and the Safeway Championship in Brandon (February, 2015).

If eligible, the winners of the televised final games will earn invitations to compete in the respective Provincial Championships. In addition, the four top ranked eligible men’s teams two top ranked eligible women’s teams after the championship will also earn provincial invitations.

Spectators at Manitoba Curling Tour events can also win! Three lucky spectators will win a special championship package which will include reserved seating at Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club with hospitality & promotional merchandise compliments of Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries along with a comfortable room for a one-night stay compliments of Best Western Plus Winnipeg West. The winner of these special championship packages will be drawn randomly from spectator entries at each MCT bonspiel.
