On November 29 and 30, 2025, the Manitoba Water Polo Association (MWPA) is hosting the playoffs and finals of the School League water polo season. Athletes from across Winnipeg have been practicing and competing weekly with their school team since September - and it all comes down to this final weekend when we find out who will take home the titles for High School Boys, High School Girls and Middle Years (co-ed).
Kelvin has dominated the MWPA High School Girls League for several years, but this year has faced fierce competition from St. Mary's Academy who is first position going into the playoffs. In the MWPA High School Boys League, the intense rivalry continues between Vincent Massey and Kelvin as they trade positions at the top of the rankings.
The gold medal games for High School Girls and High School Boys will be played on Sunday at 12:30 pm and 1:10 pm respectively.
In the Middle School League, Ecole Viscount Alexander is at the top of the standings, but River Heights, Charleswood and Van Walleghem are not far behind. The Middle School League gold medal game will take place at 3:30 PM on Sunday.
Each team has also nominated All-Stars who will be announced at the final games. These athletes are being invited to play in a special tournament on December 14, 2025 at the East Kildonan Pool (909 Concordia Avenue).
