The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (“ITA”) is happy to announce that the ITA Women’s Division III National Team Indoor Championship will be heading back to Top Seed Tennis Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky as Sewanee: The University of The South has been chosen to host the 2023-2025 Indoor Championships.

Beginning in 2009, the ITA Women’s Division III National Team Indoor Championship has long been a staple of the Division III spring season with many of the nation’s top teams converging in one location each season to see who will be crowned Indoor National Champions.

“We are so excited to have Sewanee back on board as event host and thrilled to be returning to Top Seed Tennis Club for the next three years,” said ITA Managing Director Cory Brooks.  “Many thanks to Sewanee Director of Athletics, John Shackleford, and Head Women’s Tennis Coach, Conchie Shackleford, for their commitment not only to this important event but to Division III women’s tennis in general.”

After serving as the host institution from 2017-19, Sewanee: The University of The South will once again serve as host to one of the most prestigious events in the Division III Women’s schedule beginning in 2023 from the Top Seed Tennis Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

Fresh off of an NCAA Tournament appearance as well as a top-ten finish in the ITA Collegiate Tennis National Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point, Sewanee will add to the high level of competition seen at the National Team Indoor Championship each year.

With the three-year commitment, Sewanee is set to serve as hosts for the fourth, fifth, and sixth time in the Championships history, tying them with DePauw University as the only six-time hosts in the Division III Women’s National Team Indoor Championship history.

“Sewanee is thrilled to return as host of the ITA Women’s Division III National Team Indoor Championship, partnering with Top Seed Tennis Club that has been such a wonderful host facility these past few years,” stated Sewanee Director of Athletics, John Shackelford. “I know that participating teams from around the country love competing in this exceptional venue and both our coaches and student-athletes look forward to the opportunity to welcome our friends from across Division III back to the southern states for this annual tradition.”

In addition to the announcement of the host site for the upcoming ITA Division III Women’s National Team Indoor Championship, dates for the 2023-25 Championships have also been announced.

Beginning in 2023, play will commence on March 3rd and run through March 5th, while the 2024 Championship will take place from March 1st through the 3rd, and the 2025 Championship from February 28th through March 2nd.
