Over 1,250 teams Will Compete in America's Largest Soccer League

Heartland Soccer Association announces record league registration for its fall soccer league which begins Friday, August 6th.

This season Heartland Soccer League will have new play formats with 7 vs. 7 and 9 vs. 9 for the younger age groups as well as full-sided 11 vs. 11 games with the new play mandates issued by US Soccer.

In addition to Kansas City area based teams, teams from a surrounding 4 state area will travel to play in the Heartland Soccer League.

"This continues to be an exciting time for soccer in Kansas City.  We have consistent growth on two fronts.  Our local clubs continue to grow and develop players at all ages, and we are able to draw teams outside of our area to travel here and play league every weekend," stated Shane Hackett, Executive Director at Heartland Soccer Association.  "The depth and diversity of players and teams is a big attraction and, of course, our world class soccer facilities at Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex and Swope Soccer Village are unparalleled.  What an incredible opportunity for our KC kids to grow up playing soccer here."

About Heartland Soccer Association: Heartland Soccer Association is recognized as the largest soccer league in the United State and operates the largest tournaments in the Midwest.   The league accepts players of all skill levels including recreational and premier level players and teams.

Each year over 170 different soccer clubs compete at Heartland.  Both league and tournaments are held on synthetic soccer turf at the world-class soccer facilities of Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex and Swope Soccer Village. Grass games are played at Heritage Soccer Park and Legacy Park.  More information can be found at www.heartlandsoccer.net.
