The North Central Iowa Regional Sports Authority of Hamilton, Humboldt and Webster Counties was chosen for the third year in a row as of one of ten regional sports authority districts in Iowa. Along with the distinction of being a regional sports authority district a $50,000 marketing grant was given to each district.
The Fort Dodge CVB is partnering with the three counties to distribute these funds to organizations that hold amateur sporting events. The Fort Dodge CVB has provided the $25,000 match and administrative services that the grant requires . Realizing that the business brought into the area by sporting events can impact communities in all three counties, the new board is eager to work together to develop new event partnerships, expand existing events and bring in new events. Last year over 52 events were given funds to help with their marketing and bid costs. This year 58 events are slated to receive funds.
