The Village of Oswego has voted to rejoin the Aurora Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) after a 14 year absence.

"The Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is thrilled to add the Village of Oswego to the regional destination," said Cort Carlson, Executive Director of the Aurora Area CVB.

The new tourism service agreement will benefit the Village of Oswego with dedicated promotion, and its hotels will begin collecting leads generated by the sales efforts of the Aurora Area CVB.

"We are excited to be joining the Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau," said Oswego Village President Gail Johnson. "The Village of Oswego values partnership and working together towards common goals, and our team is looking forward to closely collaborating with the AACVB to accomplish more together in our shared vision of bringing more visitors to Oswego and the region."

Oswego hotels will receive leads generated by Aurora Area CVB sales efforts in the niche markets of group tours, meetings, motorcoach, and sports events. Last year, Aurora Area CVB sales produced an estimated 21,486 in bookable room nights at area hotels and an estimated $4.8 million in local economic impact.

"We look forward to promoting the Village’s outstanding attractions, and working with Oswego hotels to secure and service more group rooming blocks as we increase sports tournaments and group business in the region," said Carlson.

A municipal marketing partnership program, launched last year by the Aurora Area CVB, will provide Oswego with dedicated tourism promotion featuring the visitor attractions within the Village. Oswego will also be marketed alongside the communities of the Aurora Area as part of the regional destination at the Aurora Area CVB's website, enjoyaurora.com, and in its annual visitors publication, the Aurora Area Go Guide.

"We are truly a regional destination and can offer an even greater product mix with the addition of Oswego," said Carlson.

Oswego brings new attractions to the Aurora Area CVB service area, including the Fox Valley Winery, Emerson Creek Pottery & Tea Room, Arranmore Farm & Polo Club, the Little White School Museum, as well as the shopping, dining, and recreation available in historic Downtown Oswego and throughout the community.
