Rockford Setting the Pins for High School Bowlers

The Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (RACVB) is pleased to welcome the 2019 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Girls Bowling State Finals back to the Rockford region February 15 - 16, 2019. There are 215 bowlers that will compete in singles, team and wheelchair division games at Cherry Bowl in Rockford, IL. This is an opportunity for media to take photos of this elite sports tournament that fills approximately 500 room nights with visitors projected to spend an estimated $103,500 while visiting the Rockford region.

Events will take place on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 7:15 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Cherry Bowl, 7171 Cherryvale N. Blvd., Rockford, IL 61112                                                            

The top bowling teams with the highest pin count for both rounds in the sectional competitions advance to the IHSA state final tournament. There are a total of 24 teams, 30 individual bowlers and four athletes in the wheelchair division all competing in this tournament. Local teams competing are representing Harlem and Freeport high schools. Individual bowlers competing will represent Auburn, Guilford and East high schools.
