Inaugural Event, including Fastest Family Team Competition, set for August 7 at the Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio

There are interesting run routes and those that start from interesting venues. This one, in Oak Park, Illinois, may just be both.

The Frank Lloyd Wright One Mile Run will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 7:30 a.m. This run starts in front of the Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio at 951 Chicago Avenue, Oak Park, IL. 

The Inaugural Frank Lloyd Wright One Mile Run is neither punishment nor used a springboard fo some form of adventure. It is just a mile, and you can run it individually or with a team. This event includes 14 waves for the variety of age divisions.

So, who is the fastest family in Oak Park, River Forest or Forest Park?

Family Team competition would require a minimum of one person over 21 years old. Open and Corporate Teams can also enter. The flat fee for a team is $150.00. Five individuals run, 3 with the best times will score. All persons are eligible for individual awards.

There are 14 waves in this event, the last two 13 and 14 are reserved for the USATF Illinois State Mile Championship. These final two waves, which are finals, are dedicated to women and men who are USATF members.  Top 3 each category win cash awards. Parking: Lake St. & Forest Avenue.

Fees: $25, $30, $35 and teams of 5 pay a flat fee of $150.00.

This mile course is certified and the event sanctioned by USA Track & Field Association.
