Level I and Level II Endurance Courses Set for October 2014

USA Triathlon announced today that it will host two coaching certification courses in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, from Oct. 6-9 leading into the 2014 IRONMAN World Championship, presented by GoPro.

Prospective attendees will have the option to register for courses to become a USA Triathlon Level I or Level II Endurance Certified Coach. The Level I clinic, intended as the first step in the USA Triathlon's coaching education program, will be held Oct. 7-8 and 40 spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost will be $555 and registration is currently open online through the Active Network. This will be the third time a Level I Coaching Certification clinic has been held in Kailua-Kona.

The Level II Endurance Coaching Certification was introduced in Kailua-Kona in 2013, with an emphasis on long-course racing, training and nutrition philosophy. The clinic, held Oct. 6-9, will host 10 attendees who must meet a number of requirements, including two years of Level I certification, and should complete the application process at usatriathlon.org by July 31 in order to register. The cost of the Level II Endurance course is $655.

"Coaches and athletes are typically interested in learning as much about the sport as possible, and we see these courses as part of the celebration of triathlon taking place in Kailua-Kona in early October" said Tim Yount, USA Triathlon Chief Operating Officer. "The IRONMAN World Championship is hailed as one of the most notable endurance events around the world and offering coaching education courses during race week makes sense for our target audience of prospective Level I and Level II Endurance coaches."
