Cobb County is set to host The SHOW by NextGen, a national youth football showcase, in late June 2022.

Established in 2014 by Brent and Brennan Williams, both NFL alumni, NextGen seeks to change the lives of athletes by identifying elite football players and creating opportunities for them to receive college scholarship offers. More than 8,000 Division 1 scholarships have been offered to NextGen Camp alumni.

The SHOW is the nation’s largest youth football showcase event and the only showcase event covered by all major football recruiting companies including 247 Sports, ESPN, NCSA, Rivals, Sports Illustrated Recruiting, The UC Report, Youth1, and more. During The SHOW, athletes compete in front of the nation’s top college recruiting and scouting services. NextGen has hosted The SHOW since 2015, and 2022 will be the second time the event has been held in Georgia.

The 2022 event is scheduled for June 22 through June 26 at Franklin Gateway and will feature athletes from 12 other regional NextGen showcases. The 2021 event featured 800 athletes from 46 states and four countries, with more than 3,000 spectators in attendance.

“Sports continues to be a powerhouse for Cobb’s tourism industry, especially youth sports,” said Rachel Rogers, Director of Sports Sales & Engagement at Cobb Travel & Tourism and the Cobb Sports Alliance. “Events like The SHOW by NextGen not only place Cobb County in the national spotlight but also bring athletes and their families into our community to experience what makes it unique. We are proud that an event with such tremendous youth impact has chosen Cobb for the 2022 showcase.”
