The Greater Gwinnett Championship Presented by Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating is an official event on the PGA TOUR’s Champions Tour. This 54-hole stroke play golf tournament features 81 Champions Tour professionals competing for a $1.8 million purse at the prestigious TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, GA. The 2015 event will be played April 13-19 with all three official rounds nationally televised on the Golf Channel.

As information continues to be finalized for the 2015 event, organizers are reminding visitors of the 2014 Tasting on the Tee, a benefit event to be held Saturday, Oct. 11. The theme is “Mad Merlot,” and participants are asked to wear 1960s Madison Avenue style clothing.

This upscale wine tasting, presented by Infiniti of Gwinnett, is an official Greater Gwinnett Championship event, and encourages participants to channel the 1960s on Madison Avenue as they mix, mingle and shake to live entertainment, sample wines, and enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres at this swanky affair. This event will benefit the 2015 Greater Gwinnett Championship charities and the Infiniti of Gwinnett Back to School Backpack Program

About the Champions Tour: Collectively, the Champions Tour has the most recognizable and accomplished players in the game with many of its 32 members of the World Golf Hall of Fame competing regularly in its events and numerous other major championship winners among its members. The Champions Tour is a membership organization of professional golfers age 50 and older. Conceived in 1980 as the Senior PGA Tour, it started with just four events and purses totaling $475,000. Points earned in official Charles Schwab Cup events in 2013 determined Kenny Perry as the Charles Schwab Cup champion, the season-long competition designed to recognize the Champions Tour’s leading player. The Champions Tour's primary purpose is to provide financial opportunities for its players, entertain and inspire its fans, deliver substantial value to its partners, create outlets for volunteers to give back, protect the integrity of the game and generate significant charitable and economic impact in communities in which it plays. In 2013, tournaments on all five Tours (PGA TOUR, Champions Tour, Web.com Tour, PGA TOUR Latinoamerica, PGA TOUR Canada) generated more than $130 million for local charitable organizations.  In 2014, the TOUR’s all-time total of charitable contributions will surpass $2 billion. The Commissioner of the PGA TOUR is Tim Finchem. Mike Stevens is President of the Champions Tour. The PGA TOUR’s website is pgatour.com, the No. 1 site in golf, and the organization is headquartered in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
