NCAA Announces Updated Information on 2019 Convention

The NCAA Convention is scheduled for January 23-26 in Orlando. Florida.

To receive the 2019 NCAA Convention hotel rate, media members interested in attending are encouraged to register for the NCAA Convention now.

The Orlando World Center Marriott and Caribe Royale Orlando will serve as the headquarters hotels for the 2019 NCAA Convention. There also will be programming at Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center.

The NCAA Convention is attended by members from more than 1,300 NCAA colleges, universities, conferences and affiliate organizations. During the Convention, members from all three divisions discuss and vote on key issues facing higher education and college athletics.

Most business and educational sessions are open to media unless otherwise noted.

NCAA president Mark Emmert will deliver his annual State of the Association address during the NCAA Plenary Session on Thursday, Jan. 24.  

The Convention also will feature many Association-wide sessions on a variety of important issues and the presentation of numerous NCAA honors, including the prestigious Theodore Roosevelt, Pat Summitt and Gerald R. Ford awards. 

NCAA governance groups in all three divisions also meet during the Convention.

2019 NCAA meeting schedule

  • Association-wide workshops are Wednesday, Jan. 23.

  • The Honors Celebration is 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23.

  • Association-wide menu sessions are Thursday, Jan. 24.

  • The NCAA Plenary Session: State of College Sports is 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24.

  • The Association-wide business session is 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan 24.

  • The Delegates Reception is 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24.

  • The Association Luncheon is 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25.

The core business days of the Convention will remain unchanged. For Division I attendees, programming will conclude Friday, Jan. 25. For Divisions II and III attendees, programming will conclude Saturday, Jan. 26.
