120 Teams to Vie for Titles Dec. 5-9; Full List of Competitors to be Revealed Oct. 23

The Super Y League will hold its North American Finals at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida December 5-9.

The 2014 SYL North American Finals will be one of the year’s most important youth soccer events, with teams once again competing for GotSoccer ranking points as individual players showcase their skills for top college coaches from throughout the country. The event also serves as an important identification opportunity for the Super Y League’s U.S. Soccer-sanctioned Olympic Development Program.

The League will reveal the groups for the 2014 Super Y League North American Finals presented by Nike via social media beginning on Monday, October 6, unveiling the path to the championship for the 120 elite boys and girls teams set to compete.

Groups will be unveiled daily at 3 p.m. ET on the Super Y League’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts using the following schedule:

U12 Girls - 12 teams, 3 groups                  Monday, Oct. 6
U12 Boys - 16 teams, 4 groups                 Tuesday, Oct. 7
U13 Girls - 12 teams, 3 groups                  Wednesday, Oct. 8
U13 Boys - 16 teams, 4 groups                 Thursday, Oct. 9 
U14 Girls - 8 teams, 2 groups                    Friday, Oct. 10
U14 Boys - 16 teams, 4 groups                 Monday, Oct. 13
U15 Boys & Girls - 16 teams, 4 groups   Tuesday, Oct. 14 
U16 Boys & Girls - 12 teams, 3 groups   Wednesday, Oct. 15 
U17 Boys & Girls - 12 teams, 3 groups   Thursday, Oct. 16                         

The full schedule of games will be unveiled on the Super Y League website on Thursday, October 23.

Currently in its 15th season, the Super Y League is the best operated youth league in North America, allowing it to stand above the competition. The league recently announced the addition of U10 and U11 age groups, beginning with the 2015 season.

The Super Y League Olympic Development Program provides the players selected with the chance to train, compete, and interact with staff coaches from all three divisions of the NCAA. The combination of high-level coaches working with the top players in the league makes for a truly unique experience for all involved. Hosted at IMG Academy, the players are exposed to specialized training in mental conditioning, nutrition, and the college recruiting process.

Super Y League: Founded in 1999, the Super Y League is dedicated to the progression of future professional players and has steered the course for development of elite clubs, players, and coaches. Affiliated with U.S. Soccer, the Super Y League ODP Program has opened countless doors for players to be identified for U.S. National Team programs. The Super Y League contains the youth academies of Major League Soccer clubs, USL PRO clubs, PDL and W-League clubs. The league also serves clubs looking to develop the game from the ground up.
