2025 USTA National Adaptive Tennis Championships to Include Singles Event

The USTA announced today that the 2025 USTA National Adaptive Tennis Championships, scheduled for October 24–26 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla., will feature a singles invitational for the first time in the event’s history. This expansion highlights the USTA’s commitment to inclusivity, athletic development, and competitive opportunity for adaptive athletes.
 

The inaugural singles invitational will feature eight athletes with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) and will be held along with the traditional Unified Doubles Competition, where one player with an IDD and one without compete as doubles partners.
 

The USTA National Adaptive Tennis Championship is an annual tennis event that brings together adaptive tennis players from across the country to compete in a national-level tournament. The goal is to provide athletes living with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities with a competitive environment while fostering sportsmanship and camaraderie.
 

The eight athletes selected to compete in the singles invitational are:

• Justin Daley (Braintree, Mass.)

• Kara Diachenko (Charlotte, N.C.)

• Jonathan Doring (Boynton Beach, Fla.)

• Juan Pablo Lopez (Nogales, Ariz.)

• Stephen Roh (Houston)

• Rachel Sweatt (Hot Springs National Park, Ark.)

• Emily Werman (Calabasas, Calif.)

• Nathan Williams (Cedar Rapids, Iowa)
