The Army Ten-Miler (ATM), with the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) as Sole Lead Sponsor, has opened 2025 general registration presented by General Dynamics. The 2024 race saw more than 28,000 runners, from ages 13 up to 83, navigate through the streets of Washington, DC. Returning to the nation’s capital on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, and celebrating the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday, the 10-mile road race is open to the public, active-duty military, veterans, retirees, reservists, and all others aged 13-years and up.
Every year thousands of runners travel from across the globe to Washington for the Army’s Race, the world’s third largest 10-miler and only race that begins and ends on the Pentagon Reservation in Arlington, Va. The scenic course takes runners across the Potomac River into Washington, DC, passing monuments and historic landmarks as fans line the DC streets and cheer on all participants. The race is mandatory for those participating in the Armed Forces Series Challenge and a good challenge for those who have conquered 5K distance events and are ready to move up.
Individual registration remains $89 (plus processing fees) through April 30 (the lowest rate this year), and includes the official, long-sleeve technical race shirt and a finisher medal. Registration will increase to $99 on May 1, $110 on Sept. 1, and $125 at the Expo. Runners may also purchase tickets for the General Dynamics Pasta Dinner for $43 (plus processing fees), returning to the Crystal Gateway Marriott. Runners who register prior to May 1 will pay the lowest registration fee available.
All race proceeds benefit U.S. Army Soldiers and Families. People run the Army’s Race for an array of reasons since it serves as an ideal community-building event, invoking patriotism and pride in the country. Entire families register – many in honor of a loved one – while others use it as an opportunity to achieve fitness goals, challenging themselves on a runner-friendly, mostly flat course. Many military members use Columbus Day/race weekend as an unofficial family reunion opportunity to reconnect with classmates and brothers-in-arms. College-based ROTC teams come from all over the country to compete and experience the Army’s esprit de corps, while corporate teams build morale and battle one another while supporting the Army.
The only ATM packet pick-up location will be at the DC Armory during the two-day ATM Expo on Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11. No race packets will be mailed, and there is no packet pick-up on race day.
Registration is also open for both the 2025 In-Person Youth Run (a non-competitive 400m run for children aged 12-and-under) and the 2025 Virtual Army Ten-Miler Race (offered on a first-come, first-served basis). Registered Virtual Race runners must complete their race between Oct. 12 and Dec. 31, 2025. This offers an opportunity for runners to bring ATM to their own hometown, running with friends and family. Registered youth runners get to experience the pride of completing an ATM Youth Run and receive a race bib, t-shirt, and medal (registration fee is $35).
