Connecticut to Host Fitness Extravaganza

Public Invited to National Fitness Model Pageant at Mohegan Sun on Saturday; Sunday, April 12 Will Bring 900 Fitness Enthusiasts Working Out with Trainer Shaun T

This Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12, female and male fitness models and athletic enthusiasts from around the world will gather at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. for Fitness Atlantic 2015, one of the largest fitness events in New England. The Finals of this glamorous fitness pageant will begin at 6 p.m. The event’s Preliminary Competition will take place earlier in the day at 10 a.m. with Finals at 6:00p.m.The next day on Sunday, April 12 at 10 a.m., internationally renowned fitness trainer and choreographer Shaun T, creator of INSANITY® Extreme Workout System, will lead a “sold-out” 900-person Master Class workout.

“Since 1999, the Fitness Atlantic event has provided fitness models a chance to shine,” explains Brian Cannone of Trumbull, event producer of Fitness Atlantic. “Contestants compete for the ‘Best of the Best’ in categories that include Female Fitness and Bikini Models, Male Fitness Models, and Male and Female Muscle Models. All who enter hope to earn the title of ‘Pro Status’ for their accomplishment of getting into the best shape of their lives,” notes Cannone. “This is a personally rewarding opportunity that gives contestants a chance to shine and features production standards unlike any other in the fitness industry. Contestants will proudly walk the stage dressed in swimsuits and bikinis, and in themed-wear that that has included feathered peacocks and winged angels.”

Participants come from all over the world to compete for the prestigious titles and prizes offered and the opportunity to shoot with some of the most published fitness photographers in the country. Spectators cheer for their favorite fitness models while getting inspired by seeing the results of their hard work through proper exercise and nutrition.

“This year’s Fitness Atlantic is an impressive fitness industry event and it is expected to generate more than $365,000 in revenue for the region and an additional $27,700 in Connecticut Sales Tax,” says H. Scott Phelps, Interim President of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau (CTCSB). Phelps also reports that nearly 200 jobs in the hospitality industry will be supported by this event.
