Placer Valley Tourism (PVT) is thrilled to be teaming up again with the Wine Country Curling Club (WCCC) to bring the Barrel Bonspiel back for the second year in a row to Skatetown Ice Arena in Roseville.

This three-day curling tournament will take place on March 23-25 and the timing couldn't be better with the recent Winter Olympics in South Korea where curling was a highlight of the games especially for Team USA.

"The Gold Medal in curling was truly an amazing feat by Team Shuster; so many people have found out about curling now and we're trying to teach as many people as we can over the next few months," stated WCCC President Katie Feldman. "All of our classes are full with wait-lists, but the Barrel is their chance to come out and watch a few games in action!"

The Barrel Bonspiel will feature 20 curling teams coming from California and Nevada to compete. They are also bringing back the popular "Hot Shot" contest that allows curlers to show off their moves in hopes of being crowned the trick shot master!

The action will start on Friday, March 23 at 3 p.m. The curlers will return to the ice at 7 a.m. on Saturday and compete throughout the day. Sunday the games will start at 8 a.m. with things wrapping up about 3 p.m. There is no charge for spectators so come on down to Skatetown at 1009 Orlando Blvd. in Roseville and see the incredible and fascinating sport of curling live.

Placer Valley Tourism (PVT) is made up for the 23 hotels in Roseville, Rocklin and Lincoln, California. PVT recruits and supports hundreds of annual events with grants, marketing, volunteers and other services as needed.
