Tennis Summit, Facility Conference Headed for Indian Wells, CA

Two-time Emmy Award-winning sportscaster Ted Robinson, tennis coaching legend Nick Bollettieri, and Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Chairman and CEO Stacey Allaster will be among the keynote speakers at two important tennis industry conference to be held in March in Indian Wells, Calif., during the BNP Paribas Open men’s and women’s professional tennis tournament.

The 2015 Tennis Industry Association (TIA) Tennis Summit will be March 17-18, bringing together tennis industry executives, legends, pros, coaches and other sports and business personalities to examine the state of the tennis industry and the sport and discuss how tennis will grow in the future. Following the Summit will be the Tennis Owners and Managers (T.O.M.) Conference March 18-19, with presentations and sessions designed to help club and facility owners and managers grow their businesses and bring in more tennis players. Both will be at the Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa.

Veteran sportscaster Robinson is a host and play-by-play commentator for Tennis Channel, has anchored NBC’s coverage of Wimbledon and the French Open since 2000, and for two decades partnered with John McEnroe to anchor USA Network’s coverage of the US Open. Among other topics, he’ll speak on March 18 about the importance of tennis in today’s society and what tennis can learn from other sports.

Bollettieri, who received the highest honor in tennis in July when he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, also will address the conference on March 18. Among the topics he’ll discuss will be how his tennis academies helped to produce not only 10 World No. 1 players, but also thousands of recreational tennis players who continue to reap the benefits of a healthy, active and social, yet competitive, sport.

On March 17, Allaster will update the Tennis Summit audience on the WTA and how professional tennis helps to connect with tennis fans, players and consumers. She’ll also be part of a panel discussion that will include David Egdes of the Tennis Channel and ATP Board, Ilana Kloss of World TeamTennis, and J. Wayne Richmond of the Emirates Airline US Open Series.

Other featured speakers scheduled to attend the conferences include Dr. Jim Loehr of the Human Performance Institute, Life Time Fitness Founder and CEO Bahram Akradi, tennis resort and club management entrepreneur Peter Burwash, internationally known management consultant Dr. Gerry Faust, U.S. Tennis Association President Katrina Adams and Executive Director Gordon Smith, Tom Cove of the Sports & Fitness industry Association, media executives, tennis industry and organization leaders, and many more.
