Record Number of Cyclists Expected for Bike the Coast – Taste the Coast

More Than 1,200 Entries Received Already for Nov. 2 Event

Entries for the fourth annual Bike The Coast – Taste The Coast presented by Tri-City Medical Center (www.bike-the-coast.com), the unique cycling event, food festival, and sports and fitness expo set for Saturday, Nov. 2 in Oceanside, are moving along at a record clip. So far, more than 1,200 cyclists have registered for the event.

“The response has been phenomenal so far,” said event organizer Jim Curl of Event Media, Inc. “Last year, we closed at 2,000 riders and this year we’re planning on shutting it at 2,500. We’re also thrilled to continue our affiliation with our presenting sponsor Tri-City Medical Center.”

About Bike the Coast – Taste the Coast: On Saturday, Nov. 2, Bike the Coast – Taste the Coast presented by Tri-City Medical Center starts with a bicycle ride where riders of all ages and abilities can choose from 7, 15, 25, 50, and 100-mile rides. Cycling routes start and finish on the beach at the Oceanside Pier where all can enjoy the Taste the Coast festival. The festival includes local ‘street vendor’ cuisine, a charity beer garden, and a sports/fitness/health expo with the participation of Tri-City Medical Center. The cycling courses include the San Luis Rey Bike Trail and San Diego’s North County beaches of Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach and Del Mar.

Proceeds from the ride support the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition - www.sdcbc.org -- a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to making bicycling better in greater San Diego.  The ride is supported locally by the Oceanside Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee.
