The half marathon course begins at Cuvaison Carneros Winery in Napa, CA and finishes in historic Sonoma Plaza. Each finisher receives a race shirt, finisher’s medal and an etched wine glass. Sonoma and Napa Valley wineries help make the signature post-race Wine and Music Festival memorable for runners, as they are treated to wine tastings from esteemed local wine producers, plus live music, exhibitors, massage tents, food trucks and the Lagunitas Beer Garden. An awards ceremony rewards top finishers with wine, prizes and checks presented by Rabobank.

Leading up to the race participants are invited to attend wine and culinary themed events in Napa and Sonoma. The Race Expo and packet pickup is held at Cornerstone Sonoma on Saturday July 15th from 10:00am to 5:00pm. “This is the flagship event in our Wine Country Half Marathon Series and we always strive to showcase the finest venues, experiences and wines of this iconic wine region,” said Matt Dockstader, CEO of Destination Races. “Being able to run from a winery in Napa to Sonoma, finish the race on Broadway in front of City Hall, then sample Napa and Sonoma wines in historic Sonoma Plaza, is an experience that is unique in our sport and fuels the popularity of this event.”
