The USTA National Women’s 50-90 Hard Court Championships, the national senior tennis tournament, will take place May 9-15 at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club in La Jolla.

The women’s national championship will include both singles and doubles in the 50 and over, 60 and over, 70 and over, 80 and over, and 90 and over age groups. These events are national championships and will attract the best players from all over the country in each age group, making this field of competitors the strongest in the country in each age division.

“We are expecting an outstanding field of competitors for this year’s championships,” said Tournament Director Bill Kellogg. “These senior players have a unique style of play that will make for a spectacular week of entertaining tennis.”

The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club’s 44th Annual Men's Senior Championships will also take place the same week in conjunction with the women’s events, and will include both singles and doubles for 60 and over, 65 and over, 70 and over, 75 and over, 80 and over, and 85 and over age groups. Although the men’s events are not national championships, they will feature many senior players who regularly compete in national tournaments. Total participation for both the men’s and women’s tournaments is expected to be 300-plus players.

The start times for each day of the championships are as follows:

Monday, May 9 — 9 a.m.
Tuesday, May 10 through Friday, May 13 — 8 a.m.
Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15 — 9 a.m.
(All times are PDT)
