Mammoth Mountain in Mammoth Lakes, California, will be the epicenter of bicycle sports tourism activity in September.

The Mammoth Gran Fondo will be held September 11-12. Cyclists can cruise 102-, 70- or 42-miles along the Eastern Sierra on one of the most scenic road bike rides in the country. The event includes a time trial. Full information is available here.

In addition, Mammoth will host the Kamikaze Bike Games September 24-27.

Since the birth of mountain biking, cyclists have enjoyed trail riding in Mammoth Lakes. Intrepid competitors joined Mammoth Mountain for the first lift-accessed downhill race in history in 1985 when the Kamikaze established the Eastern Sierra as a mountain biking Mecca. Riders of all stripes make the pilgrimage from across the globe to pedal Mammoth. You could say spinning knobbies in the dirt is in our DNA and putting our racing slicks to the tarmac is ingrained in our brains. We want to share the amazing pedaling with you.

The Kamikaze Bike Games have partnered with The Town of Mammoth Lakes, the Mammoth Mountain Community Foundation, and Mammoth Mountain Ski Area to create a multi-disciplined bike event that includes off-road fun for all ability levels. With live music as well as great food and drinks, it’s going to be the big mountain, bike bash of the year.

Proceeds benefit the Mammoth Mountain Community Foundation.
