Ghost Bridge 14? Returning to NorCal this Weekend

1 Apr, 2021

The Ghost Bridge 14? endurance race presented by NorCalUltras is returning safely and responsibly to Folsom, California. The race will take place on Saturday, April 3 at Brown’s Ravine Folsom Lake SRA at 7 a.m. Registration is open now and a portion of each entry fee will be donated to Fit for Girls. There will be five staggered wave starts assigned by race management when registration closes. Click here to register by March 31 to run the breathtaking Folsom trails and find out what the exact distance of the race is. HINT: it’s somewhere between 14.1 and 15 miles. COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed at the race and runners are required to wear masks before and after the race. Click here to watch a two-minute video of safety protocols in action at the NorCalUltras Frosty Run.

The Ghost Bridge 14? course is NorCalUltras’ newest addition. The bridge was built in 1929, before the Folsom Dam and is made of concrete. After multiple GPS and map checks, no one knows the mileage of the race down to the decimal point – it is more than 14 miles, but no more than 15 miles. The beautiful 14ish-mile point-to-point course starts at Brown’s Ravine Folsom Lake SRA and finishes at the Salmon Falls Bridge Parking Lot.
“Folsom is a naturally beautiful setting for premier running races with its abundant recreation and trail system,” said Mary Ann McAlea, Senior Vice President of Greater Folsom Partnership. “Folsom extends a big welcome to all runners along with our restaurants, shops and hotels who appreciate everyone who directly benefits our local economy. Let us introduce you to the 95630 experience!”

All runners are eligible to win prizes from a random drawing and will be announced after the race. Two lucky winners will win a TheraGun, one winner per wave will receive a $20 gift card to Fleet Feet and five winners will receive a prize from GU by taking a selfie with the ghost after mile 10.

Each race entry includes:

  • NorCalUltras swag bag filled with GU Energy products
  • CRAFT technical race shirt
  • Finisher stone coaster
  • Reusable water bottle
  • GU nutrition on course
  • B-tag timing
  • Baja Fresh burrito/chips/salsa to go
  • Fruit and assorted beverages

“The Ultra running community here in the U.S. has exploded over the past few years and we are thrilled to be aligned with NorCalUltras, one of the premier ultra-race organizations here in the US.” said David Preciado, Director of Partnerships of Craft and sponsor of Ghost Bridge 14? sponsor. “Through this partnership we look forward to providing NorCalUltras innovative products and programs that will help elevate their racer’s experience and meet all their endurance needs.

The race benefits Fit for Girls, which is a non-profit organization that uses the process of training for a 5K race to empower middle school girls to develop life skills that will enable them to cross finish lines of all types on their road ahead. The Fit for Girls vision is to provide a program designed to grow the whole girl giving her the tools she needs to turn her dreams into tangible goals and overcome the challenges she encounters with a plan and added confidence.
